Learn how AI works by doing it
AI Academie
An interactive practice site for my AI workshops, in the style of Codecademy. Six topics, from how a model learns to steering an agent, each with five levels from bronze to diamond.
- Next.js 16
- TypeScript
- React
- PostgreSQL
- Resend
- Docker

01
The idea
In my workshops I first explain how AI works. After that I want people to do it themselves, not just hear about it. This site is the hands-on part after the talk: from a first prompt to building a skill, an MCP server and an agent.
02
Learning by doing
No videos, just exercises: a mini language model you train yourself, a line you fit with gradient descent, prompts and instruction files checked by a live checklist, JSON-RPC messages to a mock MCP server, and an agent mission with a prompt-injection trap.
03
Privacy by design
You can practise without an account. To keep your progress you log in with just an email code: the database holds no email address, only a hash of it, and no passwords. It runs in Docker on my own server with a separate PostgreSQL database.
Five medals per topic
Bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond; each level a little harder.
Simulations
Bigram model, gradient descent, temperature, MCP client and agent.
Writing exercises
Prompts, CLAUDE.md, SKILL.md and tool definitions with a live checklist.
Workshop mode
The trainer creates a code; participants appear on the live leaderboard.
Passwordless login
One-time code by email; email addresses are never stored.
Certificate
Your lowest medal across all topics becomes your overall level, ready to print.
